Among the major concerns folks have when moving is the risk of, or potential for, damage to their goods. Damage does not happen on the highway, it happens in the handling. Best practices and proper materials are used in order to mitigate the risk and essentially eliminate any potential for damage.
Imagine a stack of half filled boxes or loose items sliding out the back of a truck as it races around the corner of your street; that’s probably what most folks picture and it clearly illustrates the point: Proper planning, packing, preparation and professional consideration for you and your belongings and property, is what prevents damage!
AAGGO Movers has developed a careful process that puts you in control! We’ll help you understand the importance of packing and handling and how that process keeps your belongings whole!
Where damage occurs
You might think damage occurs, because the load shifted from going too fast or because of a bumpy road; a properly stacked, and secure load will not shift, our truck just might be the safest place for your goods. The damage is usually the result of careless handling or improper packing. The greatest potential for damage is in the lifting and carrying of your goods. The packing and the loading and unloading, the handling is where our expertise really counts.
This is why we suggest that moving is a process, not an event. The goal of our process is not just to get your goods from A to B; our goal is to provide the most efficient and economical service possible and to help you settle in, worry free, to your new home.
We suggest keeping the handling to a minimum. We do this with a deliberate and methodical, step by step, room by room, and proven process, with the proper equipment and materials.
Putting things in boxes / Packing
Packing small and incidental items into cartons/cardboard boxes or some other suitable container/bins or totes is the first step. Sealed cartons and containers with lids are best.
We suggest a variety of sizes, small, medium, large and extra large(watch our video for more information) Fill each box with like items and seal with packing tape. A full and solid box is easier to handle and no movement means no damage! Properly packed boxes are easier to handle and stack securely eliminating the risk of injury or damage.
Furniture Handling 101
Moving pads are not optional! We protect your furniture with only our clean and sanitized moving pads. Properly padded furniture is easier to handle and prevents any damage from the possibility of being bumped or banged in any way. We use shrink wrap on upholstered furniture and rugs in the same way, as well as our custom designed mattress carriers and bags.
Storage may necessitate the additional handling of your goods, in that case everything remains wrapped and padded in our secure warehouse facility.
Protecting your home
Our custom built moving van is large enough to safely hold all of your possessions and yet maneuverable enough to ensure easy access to your home; the loading ramp is a smooth and efficient transition from the house to the truck.
Our clean and slip resistant rug runners protect all floors from dirt and damage and also add protection when rearranging furniture.
Not all movers are alike
Actually statistics indicate that most people move themselves, you can do that!
Our process helps anyone to have a successful move.
AAGGO Movers works with you by outlining the process; planning, packing and preparing every step of the way.
